Draw for “The Tools” Webpage! (or get your kids to on a rainy afternoon)

June 12, 2025

Hey Artists and Makers,

Do you like to draw or paint? Do you have an image in your head of “The Bird Feeder of Grace”? Or “The Back Pocket of Knowledge”? How about “The Cradle of Compassion”?

If so – or if you think others you know might – here’s a rainy day activity: Try drawing (or painting or collaging) one or more of “The Tools”. And if you draw one of “The Tools” feel free to send me a clear picture to this link Art Hotline.

I’ll be thrilled to post any and all POSITIVE designs or on the website.

A few ground rules:

a) Original art only.
b) All art needs to be free of logos trademarked concepts, or corporate references. (There’s no “McNugget of Joy” or “Google Translate of talking to Teenagers”. – Though I suppose I would make more money if I wrote those posts.)
c) The picture of the drawing of “The Tool” needs to be clear even at a small scale (like on a phone).
d) Whether it is realistic or surrealistic, all images need to be of a SPECIFIC TOOL (or tools).
e) Lastly, I get to choose if something does not meet these standards.

In return, I promise:

a) I will give artists credit for their work (unless they don’t want to be posted). Whether it’s 5 year Jaques or 95 year old Elizabeth, all makers deserve credit.
b) Neither I nor anyone involved with Pear Tree Family Therapy will sell art shared for “The Tools” webpages. Making my website even prettier might help me share good ideas and that might mean even more people reach out for help, but I will neither take credit for nor make money off of any designer’s contribution.

Here’s the most important thing: All art is welcome so long as it is Clear, Relevant, and Kind.

Send your ideas to https://www.peartreefamilytherapy.ca/art-hotline/

Be Well!

Lindsey

P.S. I’ve had fun with this. I just remind myself that no one expects me to be Marc Chagall or Julienne Alexander.
